5 Days and 5 Ways: Session 3

5 Days and 5 Ways

The Power of Mindfully Navigating Teaching in the Fall of 2020

As a way of supporting teachers in our community after a very challenging spring, Dave and I are super excited to be offering our bite-sized PD sessions this summer in an effort to support you upon your return to teaching in the fall.

This video PD series will be offered in a live stream format via Zoom. It will also be recorded and available for rewatching or purchasing after the live event. Our intention is to support you and create a virtual learning experience that meets your needs, whatever they may be.

In these 5 two-hour PD sessions, we will walk you through the skills we think will support you as you return to your classrooms and schools in the fall.

It is our philosophy that quality PD is an opportunity for teachers to grow personally, allowing for an organic and mindful social-emotional experience in the classroom.

There is a great need for educators to take care of themselves right now. We want to help you use your summer by investing in YOU and join us for 5 days of inspired learning, reflecting, and growing.

You can’t teach what you don’t practice.

Pricing:

  • Individual session: $25 each

  • 5 session bundle: $110

Session 3: The Power of Understanding Our Emotions

July 13, 2020, 9-11 am EST

Virtual learning has revealed the critical awareness of having tools to manage our emotions while also having skills to help kids navigate their emotions. In this session, we will be diving into the research and information on emotional intelligence from Dr. Marc Brackett, the Director of Yale’s Center for Emotional Intelligence to help us identify, express, and regulate our emotions.

Together we will:

  • Use awareness to identify our emotional states

  • Discuss and explore our triggers

  • Learn how to regulate emotions both in and out of the classroom
